Song Lyrics for 1st Grade Concert
The Ants Go Marching
1. The ants go marching one by one. Hurrah! Hurrah! (2 times)
The ants go marching one by one.
The little one stops to suck his thumb.
And they all go marching down... to the ground... to get out... of the rain.
2. The ants go marching two by two. Hurrah! Hurrah! (2 times)
The ants go marching two by two.
The little one stops to tie his shoe.
And they all go marching down... to the ground... to get out... of the rain.
3. The ants go marching three by three...
The little one stops to climb a tree...
4. The ants go marching four by four...
The little one stops to shut the door...
5. The ants go marching five by five...
The little one stops to take a dive...
6. The ants go marching six by six...
The little one stops to pick up sticks...
7. The ants go marching seven by seven..
The little one stops to pray to Heaven...
8. The ants go marching eight by eight...
The little one stops to make them late...
9. The ants go marching nine by nine...
The little one stops to kill some time...
10. The ants go marching ten by ten...
The little one stops to say, "THE END!"
Butterfly Come Play With Me
Butterfly come play with me.
Butterfly come here.
Butterfly come play with me.
Butterfly can you hear.
We will laugh and dance and sing and play,
We will fly through the air.
We will laugh and dance and sing and play,
And fly ev'rywhere.
The Inchworm
Two and two are four.
Four and four are eight.
Eight and eight are sixteen.
Sixteen and sixteen are thirty-two
Inchworm, inchworm,
Measuring the marigolds,
You and your arithmetic
You'll probably go far.
Inchworm, inchworm,
Measuring the marigolds,
Seems to me you'd stop and see
How beautiful they are.
Firefly
Firefly, firefly, in the night
With a yellow, with a yellow, with a yellow light,
How I like to watch you shine tonight.
Bugs!
Eww! Bugs! Creepy crawly bugs!
Creepy crawly bugs are on the ground!
Eww! Bugs! Creepy crawly bugs!
Creepy crawly bugs! Ewwww!
Ants! Spiders! Centipedes! Worms!
Ants! Spiders! Centipedes! Worms!
Ants! Spiders! Centipedes! Worms!
Ewwwwww, Bugs!
Caterpillar! Caterpillar!
Caterpillar! Caterpillar! You are such a pretty sight.
Caterpillar! Caterpillar! Blue and yellow, black and white.
Take care what you do, Robins are a-hunting you.
Take care what you do, Sparrows are a-chasing you.
Caterpillar! Caterpillar! Creep away and hide you soon.
Caterpillar! Caterpillar! Spin yourself a tight cocoon.
Dark and silent lie, till you are a butterfly.
Dark and silent lie, till you are a butterfly.
The Ballad of the Bedbugs and the Beetles
I woke up Sunday morning and looked upon the wall.
The beetles and the bedbugs were playin' a game of ball.
The score was two to nothing. The beetles were ahead.
The bedbugs hit a homer and knocked me out of bed.
